The schools vision is to empower its learning community to tackle the issues of the modern world through critical engagement with Christian theological traditions. Since it graduated its first students in 1913, it has had more than 10,000 students graduate. The school is run through its culture and integrity practices which are justice, fair treatment, embracing of diversity and supporting the vulnerable.
Colleges
The University of Divinity has various colleges. They include the Australian Lutheran College, Eva Burrows College, Catholic Theological College, Morling College, Pilgrim Theological College, St Athanasius College, Stirling Theological College, Trinity College Theological School, Whitley College, and Yarra Theological Union. It is listed on the National Register of Higher Education Providers that is maintained by TESQA. It is the only Australian University of specialization to be listed.

Churches that associated with the university include Anglican, Baptist, Churches of Christ, Coptic Orthodox, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Salvation Army, and Uniting Church in Australia. The university is also in partnership with more than 30 churches and religious orders. A few of them are Salvation Army Australia, Catholic Diocese of Sale, Catholic Diocese of Ballarat, Catholic Diocese of Sandhurst, Churches of Christ in Victoria and Tasmania, Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, Anglican Diocese of Bendigo and Baptist Union of Victoria.
Student Life
The university has a graduate school for research. It provides students with health and wellbeing services. It supports international students through language skills assistance, course advice, pastoral care, compulsory orientation and library orientation.
