The University of Derby is a public university in Derby city, England. It was started back in 1851 as the Derby Diocesan Institution for the School of School mistresses. After merging the institution’s severally and overall development, in 1992, it was awarded the university status and named the University of Derby.

The campus has around 20000 students, 1700 of them being international students from over 100 nationalities. The campus has two other branches; Chesterfield and Buxton.
