The Arts University Bournemouth has a unique 9-acre campus comprising 19 state-of-the-art buildings housing academic facilities, special workshops, administrative office, recreational areas, and workspaces. AUB has many lecture theatres, boardrooms, seminar halls, and networking rooms equipped with all the essential technology and equipment. The library of AUB holds over 50,000 printed books and also various electronic resources. The library has internally located the Museum of Design and Plastics, a significant feature of the campus. The North Building extension of the university is the house to all the photography courses.
Research
The Arts University of Bournemouth offers more than 30 programs in film and animation, architecture, photography, fine arts, design at all undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels. The University offers a flourishing scholarship and research culture that celebrates and enables original investigation, developing new understanding within the arts, and extending knowledge.
Programs and Academic Groups
The Arts University Bournemouth offers various short courses, summer courses, and Foundation Diplomas, MA, and Research degrees. The university’s main aim of every course targets art, design, performance, and media. The Institution offers 23 undergraduate and 10 programs organized in two faculties: Faculty of Art and Design and Faculty of Media and Performance. Every course is validated for five years, and during the final year, the university undertakes a periodic review.
Student Life
Every student of The Arts University Bournemouth becomes a member of the Arts University Bournemouth Students Union automatically. This is a registered charity that is affiliated with the National Union of Students. The university runs about 30 clubs and also societies. For the students, they organize Freshers Weeks, fundraising, and volunteering events. They also host annual general meetings for every student. The University offers four off-campus student halls in the town. The places are allocated with a priority to all the students living away from Bournemouth and students with a disability or any medical condition. During the second and third year of the students, they are allowed to live in nearby Bournemouth suburbs, as they can live there independently in owned residences.
