The Memorial University of Newfoundland is located in St. John’s, NL, Canada. It is also known as Memorial University and is a public type university. Campus

The Memorial University of Newfoundland comprises a total number of four campuses. Besides his, the university has two satellite campuses too. The main campus of the university is in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Labrador. The St. John’s Campus is the largest campus that the university has with constituting a maximum number of buildings. The campus also has the Faculty of Medicine. Not just that, the university also has some other needed facilities such as a campus bar, bookstore, and food court, along with a campus radio station. 

In terms of library, the university has a few of those and a wide collection of archives. There are items such as records, tapes, manuscripts, photographs, and so in the archives. To be very specific, the university has a library known as Queen Elizabeth 2 library with a total number of 104,587 maps, 5,655 audiovisual titles, 1,072,588 monographs, and 9,081 journal titles.

Research

The university also has an active involvement in research. Research is carried out by six faculties, six schools on St. John’s campus, three schools at the Marine Institute, and three schools at Grenfell Campus. The university has been associated with some research centers and institutes, such as the Institute of Social and Economic Research, the Aging Research Centre- Newfoundland and Labrador, the English Language Research Centre, and more.

Student Life

The Memorial University of Newfoundland offers accommodation on its St. John’s campus. It provides accommodation in three residential complexes Macpherson College, Burton’s Pond Apartments, and Paton College. The residences have a dining hall for its students as well, and besides this, the students living in Paton College and Macpherson are obliged for a meal plan.

In Paton College dormitories, the students get dormitory-style accommodations to around 1000 students in a total number of nine residences. Macpherson College has two halls named Shiwak and Cluett. Each hall of the college is home to around 250 students. In Burton’s Pond apartments’ five courts, there are a total number of 640 students. The students are provided with accommodation in four-bedroom apartments.
