MacEwan University

Campus

The university has a campus known as a city-center campus. Before that, it had a south campus as well, which closed around 2014. The City Centre Campus hosts most of the degree programs of MacEwan University. Other than this, the campus also has a significant portion of the university’s administration. There are two libraries present in the university known as Alberta College Library, John L.Haar Library. Both the libraries hold very important records, journals, and information. 

Research

MacEwan University has engaged in many research activities, and the Research Council leads these researches. The university also conducts some ethical research with all honesty. It also has an animal research ethics board. The university hosts Student Researcher Day, where students gather to listen, share their research and accomplishment. 

Programs and Academic Groups

The university is an all-undergraduate institution. It provides around ten bachelor’s degrees besides 43 diploma and certificate programs and one applied degree. The university offers some of its programs either in the full-time classroom or part-time classroom. It also offers online and distances education to the respective students. 

 In the case of faculties, the university has around four faculties and two schools which are as follows:

• Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications
• Faculty of Arts and Sciences
• Faculty of Nursing
• School of Continuing Education
• School of Business
• Faculty of Health and Community Studies 

Student Life

The university offers usual accommodation and guest accommodation to its students. All the university accommodations are fully furnished and have an ample amount of electricity, water, Wi-Fi, and heat, and all these come under the residence fees. Besides this, there is a study lounge and a common area on every floor of the residence. 

There are options of choosing from the two-bedroom suite, four-bedroom suite, and bachelor suite where the bachelor suites are limited in number. In the two-bedroom suite case, the student will have a roommate where he has to share a bathroom and kitchenette but will have separate bedrooms. 

Likewise, in the four-bedroom suite, the student will have to live with the other three fellow roommates where they will have separate bedrooms but will have to share a kitchenette and living room. In the four-bedroom suite, there will be two bathrooms with the students willing to share. In the bachelor suite, the student will have the room to himself with his bathroom and kitchenette.
