Lakehead University is a public research university in Ontario, Canada. It was established in 1965 as a non-denomination and provincially supported institution. It is the only accredited business school in Northern Ontario and serves as the home to the Western Campus of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

CAMPUS
Lakehead University has two campuses known as Thunder Bay Campus and Orillia Campus. The campuses host around 400 academic staff, 2200 administrative staff, and about 29000 students undertaking both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Thunder Bay campus hosts the Faculty of Medicine for both the Laurentian and Lakehead Universities. It also has multiple teaching and research sites, and it is home to the new Law School known as Bora Laskin Faculty Of law.
STUDENTS LIFE
The campus students union runs several clubs that engage students in different student government activities to culture and athletics.
Lakehead University accommodation facilities are divided into three living styles; residence halls, apartments, and townhouses. Currently, the institution has a bed capacity of over 1200 bed spaces and 3 dining halls at Thunder Bay campus and 271-bed residences for students on the Orillia campus. Students are allowed to choose from a range of kitchen meals depending on their residence plan.
RESEARCH
Lakehead University is devoted to enhancing knowledge development. Thus, it has several research centers: Green Processes Research Centre, Research Center for Sustainable Communities, Biorefining Research Institute, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research.
PROGRAMS AND ACADEMIC GROUPS
In terms of programs and academic groups, the campus runs nine faculties: Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Health and Behavioral Sciences, Science and Environmental Studies, Social Sciences and Humanities, Medicine, Graduate Studies, and Law.
