Federation university in Australia is a dual-sector public university. It was established after the Gippsland campus of Monash University and the University of Ballarat merged in 2013. In 2014, the university was renamed Federation University. The school is the fourth public university in Australia. It offers scholarships to international students.

Schools and Campuses

The university consists of several campuses. They include Mt Hellen Campus in Ballarat, SMB campus in Ballarat, Gippsland Campus in Churchill, Barwick Campus in Melbourne, Wimmera campus in Horsham and Brisbane Campus in Queensland. It offers programs in various schools which are; School of Arts, School of Business, School of Education, School of Health Science, Psychology and Sport and School of Engineering, Information Technology and Physical Sciences.

Online Studies and Student Numbers

Other than providing on-campus study options, the school also offers online study options. Online studies entails provision of online reading materials, virtual classes, weekly course activities and online quizzes. Total number of undergraduate students in the school is 11,010, postgraduate students is 5607 and those in research programs are 313. Total number of staff is 1280.

Research and Collaborations

The school is in collaboration with other international institutions which encourages exchange programs. The school also prioritizes research and has research centers of its own. These are Center for Research and Digital Innovation and Health Innovation and Transformation Center. Prioritized areas of research include information forensics and security, dynamic landscapes, transformative and preventive health and practice in VET.

Accommodation Facilities

The Federation university provides accommodation facilities to the students. The rooms are offered on single basis and are fully furnished. They consist of common areas which include TV rooms, kitchens, and laundry facilities. Short term accommodation facilities together with summer holiday group accommodations are also available. International students who live on campus receive extra level of support.
