Edinburgh Napier University is a public university in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was founded in 1964 as the Napier Technical College, borrowing its name from the 16thcentury Scottish mathematician and philosopher John Napier. In 1992 the institution gained its university status, and it was named Napier University. Later in 2009, its name was changed to Edinburgh Napier University.
