Edge Hill University is a public university in Ormskirk, Lancashire, England. The campus was founded in 1885 as Edge Hill College for the first Denominational Teachers, Training, and College for Women in England. In 1959, it admitted its first male student. In 2005, the institute was awarded powers to grant taught degrees, and in 2006, it officially became Edge Hill University.
