It was started in 1942 as the Carleton College operated as a private, non-denominational evening college for Word War II Veterans. The campus gained its university status in 1952, and it was named Carleton University.

STUDENT’S LIFE
Carleton University has eleven student residences located within the campus. The accommodation facilities are co-joined to the campus through the university’s tunnel systems. The majority of the on-campus housing students are first-year students, while Frontenac House is reserved for upper-year and graduate students.

The campus is a mid-sized comprehensive and research public university. It comprises several research centers: Building Performance Research Centre, Autonomous Space Robotics and Mechatronics Centre, Carleton Immersive Media Studios, et cetera.
