Campus

In 1951, the Sydney Campus of the University of St. Francis Xavier was launched as the satellite campus of the University of St. Francis Xavier in Sydney Lyceum, Nova Scotia. Between 1978 and 1982, several new buildings were added to the university campus, including a campus center, Sullivan Field House, an art gallery, and the Beaton Institute’s current location.

Research

The Cape Breton University spent more than 3 million dollars on foreign-funded research. The University’s Office of Research and Graduate Studies publishes two annual research papers entitled Research Matters. In addition to this, the educational institution publishes separate student research magazines. Here the Presidential Award for Best Research is given. It is an annual award that recognizes CBU faculty members who demonstrate excellence in research and scholarship.
