Brandon University is a public type university and is located in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. The university entertains both full-time and part-time graduate and undergraduate students. It was established on July 13, 1889, and back then, it was known as Brandon College. It presently has around 3015 students, among which 2975 are undergraduates, and 400 students are postgraduates.

Campus

The campus of the university is known as the BU Winnipeg campus. On the campus, the students will get lab spaces as well as spacious learning spaces. The Fleming school site is close to the campus. The library of the university is known as the John E. Robbins Library. The students can use the library catalog to search for their required papers. As most of the library services are available online, the students can book an appointment. 

Research

The university has an active role when it comes to research. It constitutes researchers in each of its faculties. Not just that, the university has four tier 2 Canada Research Chair allocations. The research laboratories and facilities of the university are spread across the campus. Some of the research laboratories are Micro Analytical Facility, Functional Genomics Laboratory, and Laboratory for Applied Research in Resource Geology, Mycology Research Laboratory, etc. 

Apart from this, the Office of Research Services and the Office of Communications at Brandon University officially published GameChangers in 2015. The GameChangers contains all the stories about innovation, research, and creativity.

Student Life

In the case of accommodations, the university has around three residences to offer to its students. All three residences are unique in their way. The names of the three residences are known as Darrach hall, McMaster Hall, and Flore Cowan-Hall. Each resident in the accommodation will be provided with a bed, dresser, chair night table, and bookshelf. The student will also get a pillow, blanket, and sheets. Each room that the university has for accommodation consists of a cable outlet and internet access. 

In Darrach hall, the residence accommodates only men and can accommodate 90 residents. Since it is a double-occupancy room, the student will have a roommate, but in the single-occupancy room, the student can have the room to himself, and thus the privacy will be maintained.  

The Flora Cowan Hall accommodates only women and can accommodate around 110 residents. The last residence, McMaster hall accommodates residents of all the gender and can accommodate around 270 residents.
