As the name suggests, Birmingham University is located in Birmingham, England, and is a public university. Being established as Birmingham College of Art in 1843, it earned the designation as a polytechnic in 1971. Later it was recognized as a university and given the same status in the year 1992. Birmingham University is recognized as a university with the highest number of students from abroad in Birmingham. The University comprises around 20,480 students, among which 20,480 are undergraduates, and 5,380 are postgraduates.

The BIRMINGHAM CITY UNIVERSITY campuses are City Centre Campus, Margaret Street, Vittoria Street, Bournville Campus, and City South Campus. The famous City Centre Campus is popularly the home to Birmingham School of Acting. Vittoria Street acts as a home to the Birmingham School of Jewellery. The School of Fine art’s home is Margaret Street, which earlier was home to the Birmingham School of Art.
Apart from that, City South Campus is regarded as the home to the university’s health, life sciences, and education course. Bournville campus is then considered as the home to Birmingham City University International College.
Research
Birmingham City University consists of a total number of five Centers of Research. The art and design work that the university submitted was recognized and included in the ten highest-ranked in the country. Additionally, among the total number of research work that the university has submitted, more than 70percent of their research work was internationally recognized. The university’s research activities have led them to earn sixty-third, and this rank is primarily based on their average assessment scores.

Student Life
The university has some very huge halls that it owns and offers as accommodation to its students. Some of the halls are My Student Village, Jennes Court, and Curzon Gateway, located in the city center. Not just that, there are halls available for residents at the City South Campus, which is specially used by students who are studying nursing. Above that, there are residential halls known as The Coppice and Oscott Gardens situated adjacent to the former City North Campus available for accommodation.
