Established in Dundee as the Dundee Technical Institute, the Abertay University officially became the University of Abertay, Dundee on 17th August 1994. Abertay University is promoting itself by this name since 2014. Abertay University focuses on their innovative approach to see their program provision ranging from forensic, food science, sports to cybersecurity, biotechnology, and computer games.

The University of Abertay is best known for its computer games and is the first university that has launched a computer games degree in the world. Dundee has now become the major hub to the boom videogames industry. As an internationally renowned institution, Abertay University is just a small single campus in Dundee’s city center but home to 4000 students.

The campus of Abertay University is featured with excellent infrastructure while offering various modern amenities. Located in the main city with easy access to trains and bus stations. The Abertay University campus consists of various academic, administration buildings, recreational buildings, which include Kydd Building, Hannah Maclure Centre, Old College, and the Students Centre. All these buildings have been grouped near the Bernard King Library in the Bell Street Complex.

Abertay University consists of four significant academic buildings, viz., Kydd Building, Baxter Building, Old College Building, and the Graham Building. Every building of the University features spacious classrooms, study areas, and laboratories. The campus has an excellent residential area with dining facilities. Abertay University is home to 13 sports club which supports more than 23 social and competitive teams.

Research

Abertay University offers various postgraduate, undergraduate, and research programs in many fields like business, computer science, engineering, law, pharmacy, nursing, economics, behavioral science, and finance. The University of Abertay houses over 4000 students, including many international students and many distinguished faculty members who are well qualified. The university also offers many career services to the students. About 95% of the Abertay University graduates get enrollment or employment for further studies within six months of finishing their graduation.
