ALGOMA UNIVERSITY

CAMPUS

Algoma University is located at 1520 Queen, St E, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 2G4, Canada. It was established after the merging of Algoma University College and Laurentian University. The institution holds around 1100 undergraduate students and 75 academic staff.

 The institution has three campuses located at Sault Ste, Marie, Timmins campus, and Brampton campus. Algoma University offers facilities like academic and administrative buildings, convergence Centre, athletics and recreation, and the speakeasy student Centre. 

STUDENTS LIFE 

Algoma University offers inter-campus conferences in soccer, basketball, curling, wrestling, and the university’s thunderbirds to participate in the Ontario University Athletics.

Algoma University offers residence to its students in Dr. Lou Lukenda Dormitory, Spirit Village Townhouse, and Algoma Dormitory.

RESEARCH

The campus engages students in research to create outstanding learning opportunities and enhance knowledge across Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences. Some of these Centre’s are; The Shingwauk Residential School Centre and Children of Shingwauk Alumni Association

PROGRAMS AND ACADEMIC GROUPS

Algoma University offers over 40 programs under bachelor degrees in the following courses: biology, Business, Computer Science, Community Development, English,  Geography, History, Phycology, Social Work, Sociology, Political Science, and Political Science, and Fine Arts. 

The campus also offers  9 undergraduate and graduate certificates in; management, Information Technology, Human Management, Computing, Business, Health Science, and Software Development.
