The main campus is in Morgantown. Its other campuses are of the Technology in Beckley, in Keyser, and a clinical campus for the university’s dental & medical schools. The Campus consists of some architectural styles, mainly featuring red bricks.

WVU has a very high research activity. As reported by the National Science Foundation, West Virginia University spent $185.1 million on research and development in 2018 and ranked 121st nationally. WVU leads the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s lead academic partner in biometrics research and biometric research of technology.

WVU consists of 15 degree-granting colleges or schools and offers a College of Honours. West Virginia University provides a broad spectrum of Undergraduate and Post Graduate Disciplines like Social and Behavioural Sciences, Mathematics, Natural Resources, Literature, Engineering, Theatre, Arts, and Humanities. Student Life
Mountaineer Week is a celebration of the university’s tradition and Appalachian heritage that started in 1947. Festivities have expanded and include competitions among students. In 1949, a beard-growing competition was introduced. WVU offers a movie theatre, bowling alley, pool hall, video game arcade, ballrooms, a restaurant of cafeteria-style, and several restaurants of fast food. The University’s Housing and Residence Life creates a learning experience that leads to educational, social, and personal achievements of students living in Residence Halls and extends support to students.
