Campus

The university campus covers 120 Acres of land, and it is commonly known as the Harbour Campus. The university has specifically assigned buildings for each purpose, i.e., the service & supply building, integrated science complex, west garage, etc. It provides students the facility of in-campus stays with additional amenities, i.e., food, medicine, sports, etc.

Research

The university areas of expertise are biomedical, health, life sciences, and sustainability. The university has partnered with Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, IBM, Sanofi & Genzyme for its research methodologies. UMass Boston brings students and faculty together to pursue research, teaching, and service on diverse topics.

Programs and Academic Groups

With a 16:1 student to faculty ratio, the student body of UMass consists of 15,989 undergraduate and graduate students. As per 2019 reports 79 undergraduate program and 114 graduate programs was offered by the 9 schools and colleges of the university. Adding on, 93% of the full-time faculty hold the highest degree in their fields. The university has more than 100 student organizations and 16 NCAA Division III sports teams.

Student Life

UMass provides varied amenities to its students, and the campus offers best-in-class residential and dining facilities and dining halls, sidewalk cafes, fast food stalls, a sports pub, and coffee shops. The classrooms and labs are well equipped with modern-day infrastructure.
