The Pharmaceutical College in Denmark was a pharmacy school that was started in 1892 by the D.A Hausen. The institution’s first professor was appointed in 1936, and two degrees were introduced to the college: the DR.pharm and the LIC. Pharm degrees in 1942 and 1945, respectively.

The school was initially located at Stockholmsgade, number 28. Still, in 1942 when the Pharmaceutical College outgrew its premises, it relocated to University Park and ended up changing its name to Danish Pharmaceutical College. In January 2007, the college was merged with the University of Copenhagen. It was renamed the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and its name was established in 2012 when it became a school under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

STUDENTS LIFE

The school also has a pharmaceutical science library, a collection of new and old books, and provides numerous databases.

The Pharmaceutical College’s 1942 buildings were expanded with the New Pharma Science Building Technology. Its four-story building has a total floor area of 5130 and contains new laboratories, joined to existing buildings, that created a more attractive and conducive area of study.

RESEARCH

The intuition has the Drug Research Academy which was a graduate program in pharmaceutical sciences under the graduate school of Health and Medical Sciences.

PROGRAMMES AND ACADEMIC GROUPS

In terms of academic groups, the facility now houses 13 departments under five faculties: School of Medical Sciences, School of Oral Health Sciences, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, and School of Public Health.
