Odense University was a university located in Odense, Denmark. The campus was started in 1966. In 1998, the university was merged with two other institutions and formed the University of Southern Denmark Odense. It is a public and one of the largest universities in Denmark.

Odense university had four faculties from the start (1966); humanities, social sciences, health sciences, and natural sciences. To form the University of Southern Denmark Odense, the University of Odense was merged with Denmark School of Business and Engineering and Jutland University Centre. The institution is considered to be the main campus of the University of Southern Denmark, Odense.
The campus now has a capacity of 29000 students and 3700 administrative staff members. It has six University branches located at: Odense, Esbjerg, Kolding, Sonderborg, Slagelse and Copenhagen.
STUDENTS LIFE
Odense University of Southern Denmark, Odense has around 250 students’ residences located in three interconnected 15 storey buildings. Private sector housing is also available to the students who want to live in the campus residence.
RESEARCH
Research activities make one of the core duties of the university. The six operational faculties have around 11 research centers; mainly the campus focuses in areas such as communication, information technology, and biotechnology. The other areas are researched through national research centers at the university—for example, Hans Christian Andersen Center and the Centre for Sound Communication.

The university of southern Denmark comprises over 30 institutes under five educational faculties: Science, Humanities, Engineering, Social Science, and Health Sciences.
