Campus

NIU’s main campus is located in DeKalb. Also, the university has satellite centers in Naperville, Chicago, Hoffman Estates, Rockford, and Oregon. The main campus occupies 756 acres of land and consists of 64 significant buildings. The auditorium in the university is designed as it can also function as a ballroom with 500 seats. 144,000 square-foot facility displays modern classrooms, offices of faculty, several computer labs, a big atrium, and an auditorium with 375 seats.

Research

NIU is increasing its program in accelerator technology. The university is said to have high research activity. The Division of Research and Innovation Partnerships encourages and facilitates research at Northern Illinois University. The university offers unique programs of research for graduate students.

Program and Academic group

The university has seven colleges. It has a student population of 25,000 with 240,000+ alumni. Many of the university’s programs are nationally & officially recognized for meeting high standards of educational quality, including business, engineering, visual arts, performing arts, nursing, and all programs of teacher certification. Outdoor Adventure Club, History Society, and Theatre Society are some of the active student organizations at the University.

Student Life

A center in the university offers computer labs, lounges, restaurants, and a bookstore. It also consists of the Huskies Den, bowling, billiards, and a video arcade. It also houses a hotel that has 78 rooms. Residence halls, including two complexes with four 12-story towers each, offer several living choices to on-campus students.
