The university was founded in May of 189. This was after it was granted university status in 1987.It was the first non-profit private university in Australia. The university aims for international recognition as a leading independent institution. Currently, it has more than 26,000 alumni.
International Collaborations
The university is in collaboration with other foreign institutions. The school’s international department coordinates all international negotiations and agreements. It has different partnerships which involve student exchange programs, Memorandum of Understanding, research and abroad studies. A few of the universities include Yonsei University in South Korea, Singapore Management University in Singapore, Osaka University in Japan, and Fudan University in China.

The university started out with 322 students. Currently it consists of more than 4,000 students. Of the total number of students, more than 46% are international students. It also consists of about 1000 staff members. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. The various disciplines include Law, Business, Society and Design, and Health Sciences and Medicine.

When it comes to student life, the school has the Bond University Student Association. It also has a sports center that offers group exercise sessions. The school has an Amphitheatre that seats 400, computer labs, a learning center and a school library.
