Campus

The campus at SDSU comprises the main campus, east campus, and west campus that covers an area of approximately 261 acres. Furthermore, the university has its library named Hilton M. Briggs with over 635000 bound volumes, 315000 documents, 1800 journals, and 79000 maps. The university has 2 museums, the South Dakota Art Museum and the South Dakota Architectural Heritage. It has Coolidge Sylvan Theatre, health centers, bookstores, and many more. 

Research 

The research program at South Dakota State University is listed as an R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity. The research at SDSU focuses on agricultural science, engineering, and biology. The university has several research stations across the state named Livestock Research and Antelope research stations. The Daschle Research Library is also provided within the campus to accelerate the research process.

The South Dakota State University offers more than 170 plus programs to study and grants degrees in master’s, bachelor’s, and doctoral. The university provides specializations in the fields such as agriculture, nursing, engineering, and pharmacy. There are numerous academic groups such as student associations, radio stations, student newspapers, and athletics. 

Student life

The student life at South Dakota State University is fascinating, with numerous events such as homecoming and millennium marching band. The residential facilities are provided in apartments and residential halls in the Medary complex, Hansen, and Meadows located inside the campus.
